PMAY-G: Process After Application

After applying for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G), applicants go through several steps before receiving complete assistance and moving into their new house. The process includes verification, approval, fund disbursement, construction, and certification.

1. Verification of Application

Once the application is submitted, it is verified by the Gram Panchayat, Block Office, and District Administration. Verification is done based on the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data. Officials confirm whether the applicant already owns a pucca (permanent) house. Only those who do not have a pucca house are eligible under PMAY-G.

2. Inclusion of Name in Beneficiary List

After verification, eligible applicants are included in the PMAY-G beneficiary list. This list is published by the Gram Panchayat and also available online at the official PMAY-G portal: https://pmayg.nic.in

Applicants can check their name and details directly on the portal by visiting the above link.

3. Release of Financial Assistance

The government provides financial support to all approved beneficiaries. The amount is ₹1.20 lakh for plain areas and ₹1.30 lakh for hilly or difficult regions. This amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The total sanctioned amount is released in stages as construction progresses.

4. House Construction Process

Once the first installment is received, beneficiaries start constructing their house. Local authorities and Gram Panchayat members monitor the construction process. After the completion of each construction phase, the next installment is released. When the structure reaches completion, the final installment is provided to the beneficiary.

5. Completion Certificate After Construction

After the house construction is fully completed, an inspection is conducted by authorized officials. Upon successful inspection, a Completion Certificate under PMAY-G is issued. This certificate confirms that the house has been constructed as per the scheme’s norms, allowing the family to officially move in.

6. Benefits of Other Government Schemes

Beneficiaries of PMAY-G can also avail benefits from other government welfare schemes, such as:

  • Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM): Assistance for building household toilets.
  • Saubhagya Yojana: Free electricity connection for new homes.
  • Ujjwala Yojana: LPG connection for clean cooking fuel.

These schemes work together with PMAY-G to improve rural living conditions and help families achieve better standards of living.
